Sybil Enola Powell Pugh, 93, of Spartanburg, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Magnolia Manor-Spartanburg. Born October 9, 1917, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Elizabeth Jane Crocker Powell, and wife of the late Hugh Richard Pugh, Jr. Sybil was the last surviving member of her immediate family and the youngest of thirteen children. She was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, worked with Migrant Missions, and was a member of Joy Group. Mrs. Pugh was also a former retail sales clerk. Survivors include a son, Wayne Pugh (Martha) of Spartanburg; daughters, Gloria P. Wyatt and Gail Cannon of Spartanburg, and Nancy Jo Fain (Brent) of Greensboro, NC; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jerry Pugh. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, July 1, 2011 at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. J. Michael Hensley and the Rev. Bobby Linsay. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
