Sybil Blackwell

Sybil Ann Jones Blackwell, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday night February 13, 2021. She was born in Spartanburg, SC on June 17, 1936 to the late Victor Carroll Jones and Ruth Mabrey Jones. She married her high school sweetheart, Ronald "Ronnie" Eugene Blackwell and they were married for 65 years. They enjoyed dancing together and were members of R&B Shag Club and Upstate Shag Club. She worked for the Spartanburg Eye Clinic and oral surgeon, Dr. Keith Cox before her retirement and was a member of Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. Ann was a dedicated Christian who loved Jesus and her family and friends. Ann is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie; two sons, Ronald Eric Blackwell (Dee) and Timothy Brian Blackwell all of Inman, SC; brother, Johnny Jones (Connie) of Greenville; sister, Ginny Jones Layton of Walnut Grove; brother-in-law, Carroll Blackwell; twelve nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews. Ann was their favorite "Auntie". She was predeceased by sister, Carolyn Jones Cook of NC, and daughter-in-law, Melanie Blackwell. "Her children will arise and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praises her". Proverbs 31:28 Ann was a very devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. We will always hold her in our hearts. Visitation will be held 11:30 AM-12:30 PM Friday, February 19, 2021 at Boiling Springs First Baptist Church, funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the church, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Hank Williams and The Rev. Hub Blankenship Jr. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
