Susie Hammett

Susie Hammett, 66, of 340 Stone Street, died Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care. Born December 29, 1942, in Rutherfordton County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Elizabeth Condrey Guffey. She was the owner and operator of Hammett Residential Care in Pacolet Mills and a member of Pacolet Mills Church of God. Survivors include her husband, Roy Hammett; a son, Mike Hammett and his wife Susan of Moore; three sisters, Geneva Brackett of Concord, NC, Shirley Young of Mary Esther, FL, and Martha Hipps of Mooresville, NC; and four grandchildren, Hannah, Owen, Gracie, and Sophie. She was predeceased by a son, Andy Hammett. Visitation will be 7:00-9:00 p.m. Friday, September 18, 2009, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 19, 2009, at Springhill Memorial Gardens in Chesnee conducted by the Rev. John Brooke and the Rev. Wesley Dixon.
