Susan Gantt

Susan Denise Gantt, 59, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, January 9, 2017, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born October 25, 1957, in Shelby, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Henry and Thelma Cornwell Gantt. She was humble and kind, always wanting to serve others, and will be missed. A member of River Hills Baptist where she had numerous service positions over the years, Susan was an avid reader, great cook, and very special aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Dorman High School as well as Carson Newman College. She received her Master's Degree and Doctorate at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and was employed with Hubbell Lighting in Greenville. Survivors include her sisters, Sheila Barnwell (Richard) of Hendersonville, NC, Ilene Sanders (Steve) of Kings Mountain, NC, and Robin Dobyns (Roy) of Boone, NC. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Friday, January 13, 2017, at River Hills Baptist Church, 5762 Reidville Rd., Moore, SC 29369. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Roy Dobyns and the Rev. C. Kent Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
