Susan Kinney Cook, 68, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015 at her home. Born September 21, 1946, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dorr and Muriel Smith Kinney. Mrs. Cook graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1964 and retired from Friedman's Jewelry Store after 15 years. She was very devoted and loving to all of her family; Susan was a great cook, of the Methodist faith, and sang in the Spartanburg Symphony Chorus for many years. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Thomas Darlington Cook, III; daughters, Allyson Cook Hollis (Trent) of Pensacola, FL., and Meredith Noelle Cook of the home; sisters, Robin Kinney Westbrook of Sanford, FL., and Deborah Kinney of Cowpens, SC; half-brother, Jon Kinney of Texas; granddaughter, Taylor Noelle Hollis, of Pensacola, FL; great grandson, Theo Alexander Cooks, of Pensacola, FL; also a large number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:45 PM Monday, May 11, 2015 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. A Celebration of Life Memorial service will follow at 3:00 PM at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be private.
