Sue Putman

Sue Lytle Putman, 85, of Spartanburg, SC died Sunday, May 19, 2013. Born October 10, 1927 in Caroleen, NC, she was the daughter of the late George and Agnes Frazier Lytle. Sue was reared in Spartanburg, never missed a day in school, and was a retired secretary for W. N. Willis Engineers for 37 years. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church where she taught the Intermediate Department Sunday School class, served on various committees, and a member of the WMU and the Forever Young Group. Surviving are her husband, Dean Putman; daughters, Carol P. Beacham of Houston, TX and Connie P. Bearden of York, SC; grandchildren, Adriane Bearden and Rob Atkinson and wife Melinda; a great-grandchild, Savannah Atkinson; sister, Helen Pye and husband Luther of Inman; sister-in-law, Lorraine Lytle of Chesnee; two nieces; and six nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Robert Lytle and Max Lytle and sisters, Estelle Walker and Shirley Berry. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Larry Fleming and the Rev. Tom Moore. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Green Street Baptist Church, 446 Brawley Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303 or Vista Care Hospice, 15 Brendan Way, Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29615.
