Alice Sue Elliott Calton, 96, of Spartanburg, SC, died Monday, April 24, 2017, at McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville, SC. Born December 14, 1920, in Polkville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Coleman and Bessie McSwain Elliott and widow of Robert Kenyon Calton. Always devoted to her family and friends, Mrs. Calton was a loving member of Southside Baptist Church for over 63 years. At Southside she was also a member of The Shade Tree Musicians and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Casey (Ronald) and Sylvia Sullivan, all of Spartanburg, SC, and Judy Cummings (Larry) of Boiling Springs, SC; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and brother, George Elliott of Shelby, NC. In addition to her parents and husband she is predeceased by her siblings, Dorcas Whisnant, Howard Elliott, and Hugh Elliott. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Friday, April 28, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Herbert Garrett and the Rev. Dr. Schuyler Peterson. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Building Fund, 316 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or McCall Hospice House, 1836 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
