Steven Magivney

July 26, 1955 — February 26, 2015

Steven Lee Magivney, 59, of Converse, SC, died Thursday, February 26, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born July 26, 1955, in Brockton, MA, he was the son of the late Elwin Wesley and Melva Winifred Cole Magivney. Mr. Magivney served in the Massachusetts National Guard. He was a very hardworking man, a carpenter, dairy and chicken farmer, an avid gardener who loved his family, especially his granddaughter's Cheyenne and Savanah. He was an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge and of the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his daughters, Alicia M. Gilbert (Eric) of Spartanburg, SC, Christine Magivney of Converse, SC, and Melissa Amburgey (Brian) of Boiling Springs, SC; sister, Linda Calvani (Jim) of Bridgewater, MA; brothers, Elwin Magivney of Brockton, MA and Kenneth Magivney (Connie) of Hope, ME; granddaughters, Cheyenne Magivney and Savannah Gilbert, both of Spartanburg, SC; a large number of nieces and nephews; and was still close friends with Jean. Visitation will be 3:45-4:45 PM Friday, February 27, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with a Celebration of Life service following at 5:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. Brian Amburgey. No flowers please, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge, 150 Pioneer Fish Camp Road, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
