Steven W. Linder, 55, of Spartanburg, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, September 23, 2009. Born November 6, 1953, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Fred and Virginia Linder. He was also preceded in death by his nephew, Brian Linder. Coach Linder was a 1971 graduate of Cowpens High School and received his BA from Wofford College and MA degree from Converse College. He was formerly an assistant coach and beloved teacher at Spartanburg High School for thirty-one years. He was also a teacher at Camp White Pines. He was a member of Clifton First Baptist Church and attended Bunton Institutional Church. He is survived by Rhonda Linder and their son, Steven Allen Linder; one brother, Fred Keith Linder and his wife Frances of Chesnee; a nephew, Fred Linder, Jr. and his wife Trisha of Greenville; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be 11:00-12:45 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Darrell Revels, the Rev. Aaron Purham, and Mr. John Craig. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made in his memory to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, P. O.
