Steven Hammett, Sr.

Steven Arnold Hammett, Sr., 67, of 288 White Lillie Farm Road, died Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born September 19, 1942 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late George E. and Alice Livesay Hammett. He first retired from the Spartanburg Police Department and then retired from BMG Corporation. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moore where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, M.W. "Susie" Hammett; a son, Steven A. Hammett II and his wife "Missy"of Inman; a stepson, Randy Johnson of Moore; two sisters, Margie West of Spartanburg and Cynthia Mercer of Inman; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 P.M. Monday, August 9, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jean Pruitt and Mr. E. C. Orfanedes. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
