Steven Gaskins, Sr.

Steven Oliver Gaskins, 58, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, March 4, 2017, at his home. Born April 23, 1958, in Charlotte, NC, he was the son of Oliver Keen Gaskins of Spartanburg, SC and the late Bobby Ann LeMaster Gaskins. Steve enjoyed reading, homegrown tomatoes, a freshly ironed shirt, and listening to Jimmy Buffett. He loved his family and friends and his greatest joy was playing with his grandchildren. In addition to his father, survivors include his children, Faith Gaskins of New York City, NY, Sarah Gaskins of Moore, SC, Steven Gaskins of Greenville, SC, and Taylor Gaskins (Meredith) of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Isabella, Scarlett, Jackson, Olivia, and Julia; brother, Pastor Emory Gaskins (Cindy) of Honolulu, Hawaii; and sisters, Mardie Smith (Terry) of Greer, SC, Deborah Kerr (Alan) of Simpsonville, SC, and Laura Gibson (Brian) of Chapin, SC. Private family services will be conducted in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens by the Pastor Emory Gaskins.
