Steven Cook

Steven Joel Cook, 41, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, November 22, 2015, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born October 15, 1974, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Myra Lindsey Cook of Spartanburg, SC and the late Leslie Steven Cook. Joel was an auto mechanic, an apprentice with Palmetto Ink to become a tattoo artist, and also a guitarist with several local bands. He received his Associates Degree in Industrial Engineering from Spartanburg Community College and was a member of United Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Chris Cook (Tina) of Shelby, NC; a niece, Brandi Ford (Will) of Shelby, NC; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Bertha and Elmer Lindsey; uncle, Lloyd Lindsey; and paternal grandparents, Mildred and Jeff Cook. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Friday, November 27, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
