Joshua Avery Snapp, 30, of Killeen, TX and Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, January 24, 2015. Born May 2, 1984, in Spartanburg, he was the son of Tony Paul Snapp (Cheryl) of Cowpens, SC, and the late Kimberly Dawn Cole Snapp. Specialist Snapp was dedicated to the U. S. Army, having served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, he was a Purple Heart recipient and was honored to be awarded his CIB (Combat Infantryman Badge). A graduate of Broome High School and Spartanburg Community College (2004) he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and Tennessee football. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Kelly Crow Snapp of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Avery Colt Snapp and Wyatt Michael Snapp; brother, Jacob Snapp (Kimberly) of Cowpens, SC; sister, Jessica Sharpe (Ronnie) of Anderson, SC; nephew, Landry Sharpe; maternal grandparents, Jack and Shirley Cole; and paternal grandmother, Barbara Gilliam (Ray). He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Avery Snapp. Also surviving are his family of "brothers in arms" who were a vital part of his life and continue to serve with honor and dignity. Visitation will be 11:00 AM-1:45 PM Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Michael Boyter. Burial with military honors by the Honor Team of Fort Jackson will be in Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens, 175 Cemetery St., Cowpens, SC 29330.
