Sophy Lam, age 55, passed away on September 13, 2023, in Boiling Springs, SC. She was born on March 2, 1968, in Battambang, Cambodia, to Ey Lam and Ream Phoeun.
Sophy was one of six children. As she struggled through the hardships of the Khmer Rouge, she fled her country with her mother and elder brother, Sopheap Lam. Making her way to America as a Cambodian refugee, she strove for success, and lived the American dream. Sophy became a mother of five beautiful children and married her husband, Jesus Bravo. With ambition and determination, she provided the life she wanted her family to have.
Sophy's memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Jesus Bravo and her five children: Dava Vong Chan (Srey Doeun Yim), Sophonnie Chan Wilson (Ronnie Lee), Eli Ruthmany Figueroa (Awanda Figueroa), Johanna Sophy Bravo, and Joshua Angel Bravo. Her grandchildren, Zach Figueroa, Caden Chan, and Ken Chan, they brought her so much joy; brother, Sopheap Lam (Mao); nieces and nephews, Teresa Chan, Melissa Sopheap, Stephoun Sopheap, Christopher Sopheap, and Samnang Sopheap.
The visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Floyds Boiling Springs Chapel, 4161 SC-9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
Funeral service will follow at 2:30 in the chapel with The Rev. Sam Duong, officiating.
The burial will be in Boiling Springs Memorial Gardens, 4081 Highway 9 N, Boiling Springs, SC 29316.
