Sonja Trimmier

Sonja Mullinax Trimmier, of Spartanburg, SC, wife of Dr. Edward Perry Trimmier for 40 years, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of Pauline Branyon Mullinax of Anderson, SC and the late Herbert Mullinax. She received her BA and Master's Degrees in mathematics and education from Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. For 28 years she engendered education in mathematics. Also, she was involved in leadership as the head of the Department of Mathematics at various schools. In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley Trimmier and son, Gavin Trimmier, both of the home; and her brother, Ronnie Mullinax of Anderson, SC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Paula Trimmier; and her mother and father-in-law, Hattie and T. J. Trimmier. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 PM Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Sal Barone and Rabbi Andy Meyerson. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery-Converse Gardens, 180 Oakwood Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29302. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Spartanburg Children's Sunday School, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; and Beth Shiloh Synagogue, 5762 Reidville Road, Moore, SC 29369.
