Sibyl Allen

Sibyl Louise Allen, 87, of Gainesville, FL, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014, at her home. Born June 11, 1927, in Columbia, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sally Wheeler Lloyd, and widow of Albert J. "Bill" Allen. Sibyl retired as head cashier from North Florida Regional Medical Center. She was a very active member of Gainesville Women's Club, Newcomers, and Red Hat Society. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening. Surviving is her son, John Allen (Lisa) of Greensboro, NC; and grandchildren, John William and Jennifer Leigh Allen. She was predeceased by a sister, Myrtle Hudson. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Joe White. Inurnment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
