Shirley Wood

Shirley Wood of Spartanburg died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at her home. Born October 7, 1942, in Rutherfordton County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Howard Richard and Leona Ledbetter Lee and wife of the late Bobby E. Wood. She was a private duty nursing assistant. Survivors include three daughters, Sherrie Nelson and Angie Brooks, both of Spartanburg, and Darla Cobb of Forest City, NC; a son, Kenneth Lee Cobb Sr. of Spartanburg; two sisters, Grace Kirby of Gaffney, and Brenda Edwards of Forest City, NC; and eleven grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Westwood Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Joe Mosley. Visitation will follow the services.
