Shirley Rogers

Shirley Johnson Rogers, 78, of Spartanburg, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born July 28, 1933 in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Joe Johnson and Ruby Blanton Johnson Smith and wife of William Gerald Rogers. Shirley was retired from Wachovia Bank and a member of Wellford Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kim R. Ballard of the home; two granddaughters, Brandy R. Robertson and husband Jonathan of Chesnee and Kristin Patterson of Boiling Springs; three great-granddaughters, Lyla Robertson, Marissa and Ashlynn Patterson; son-in-law, Charles Ballard of Pinehurst, NC, and two sisters, Ammie Barnette of Irmo and Daphne Brown of Greer. She was predeceased by a son, Gerald Wayne Rogers. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Carl Poole. Visitation will follow the service. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
