Shirley Parris Champion, 64, of 603 Vanney Circle, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at her home. Born June 15, 1945, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rhona and Mary Dorothy Cooksey Parris. She was a former employee of Mayfair Mills and a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, Richard Champion and his wife Linda, a grandson, Brayden Champion, and a granddaughter, Shelby Prevatt, all of Chesnee; two sisters, Janice Keenan of Boiling Springs, and Sharon Charles and her husband Dominic of Monroe, MI; a nephew, Scott Keenan; two nieces, Amber Charles and Lindsay Charles; and a great-niece, Jordyn Keenan. She was predeceased by a nephew, Steven Keenan; and a brother-in-law, Billy Keenan. Visitation will be 6:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009, at Floyd's Boiling Springs Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church conducted by Fr. Timothy M. Gahan. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Piedmont Hospice, 1865 East Main Street, Suite F, Duncan, SC 29334. The family is at the home.
