Sherry Wheeler

Sherry Yvonne Correll Wheeler "Ethel", 81, of Roebuck, SC, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at her home. Born January 18, 1937, in Keener, AL, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Baxter Correll and Robbie Overstreet Correll. Her life was one of dedication to her entire family. Mrs. Wheeler retired from Mountainview Nursing Home after 24 years of service as the administrative bookkeeper. She was a master gardener, an exceptional cook who was known for her cakes, and of the Methodist faith. She was a graduate of the "Citizens Police Academy", a member of the Professional Business Women's Association of America, a devoted Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves fan, as well as an accomplished deer hunter and fisherwoman. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Jack R. Wheeler; children, Rose Ellis of Inman, SC, Rev. Francis Edward Traxler (Betty) of Summerton, SC, Andy Wheeler (Donna) of Moore, SC, David Traxler (Leslie) of Spartanburg, SC, and John Traxler of Moore, SC; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Rick Correll (Sherry) of Keener, AL and Mike Correll (Debra) of Reece City, AL; and her beloved canine companions, Sam and Duke. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gary Correll. Visitation will be 12:30-1:45 PM Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307 with a memorial service following at 2:00 PM, conducted by The Rev. Reid W. Bowyer.
