Shelby Cole

Shelby Jean Johnson Cole, 79, of Cowpens, SC, died Thursday, November 17, 2016, at her home. Born January 30, 1937, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Gladys Cash Johnson and widow of William Albert Cole. She was a waitress at various restaurants and of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her daughters, Terry Cole of Gaffney, SC and Tina Rhodes (Billy) of Spartanburg, SC; and daughter-in-law, Renee Cole of Gastonia, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four children, Billy Cole, Vicky Hall, Barry Cole, and Tim Cole. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2016, in Thompson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 990 Thompson Chapel Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. Jimmy Epps. Visitation will follow at the graveside. The family is at the home of Tina and Billy Rhodes.
