Shawn Groce

Shawn Avery Groce, 40, of Jonesville, died Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Wallace Thomson Hospital. Born January 19, 1971, in Spartanburg County, he was the son of Charlotte Lyda Groce of Spartanburg and the late James Groce. He was a former employee of Bagwell Fence Company and was of the Christian faith. Shawn was a true friend to all, generous to a fault, who was devoted to his mother. He is survived by his fiancé, Susan McMahan, and a number of aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Visitation will follow the service at the home of his mother at 295 Riva Ridge Road, Spartanburg. The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
