Sharon Burch

Sharon Holobaugh Burch, 63, of Moore, died unexpectedly Sunday evening, April 5, 2009, at her home. Born March 20, 1946, in Charlotte, NC, she was the daughter of Margie Segraves Holobaugh of Spartanburg and the late Palmer Grey Holobaugh. A graduate of Winthrop College with a BS degree in Biology and Chemistry, she received an MA degree in Science from Converse College. Ms. Burch taught Biology for more than twenty years at various schools, with her last position being at Dorman High School. Surviving in addition to her mother are two sons, Greg Burch and wife Christa of Bear, DE, and David Burch and fianc Steve Schmidt of New York, NY; a daughter, Amy Burch Cassell and husband Alan of Campbell, CA; a sister, Suzan Holobaugh Bergland and husband David of Naples, FL; and a grandchild, Palmer Burch. A memorial service will be held from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009, in the Senate Lounge at Summit Hills Retirement Community, 110 Summit Hills Drive, Spartanburg.
