Sergeant Timothy William Brown, U. S. Army, 34, of Columbia, SC, died Sunday, January 27, 2013. Born March 16, 1978, in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of Tom and Sharon Worthington of Moore, SC, and the husband of Alison Brown of Columbia, SC. In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by sisters, Christen Worthington of Moore, SC, and Shannon Brown of Austin, TX; grandparents, Troy and Deloris Harvey of Blacksburg, SC, and Tom and Ann Worthington of Florence, SC; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Sgt. Brown was a combat medic who served his country overseas and was most recently stationed at Ft. Jackson, SC. He was the recipient of numerous medals, honors, and awards during his military career. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services, with full military rites by the U. S. Army Honors Team from Ft. Jackson, SC, will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, February 1, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Dr. D. J. Horton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Marrow Donor Program, Be The Match, 3001 Broadway Street N.E., Suite 100, Minneapolis, MN 55413-1753 or online at www.marrow.org; This was a cause that was very important to Sgt.
