Selba Young Scott, 88, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Brookdale Skylyn-Spartanburg. Born July 30, 1927, in South Williamson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Bertha Lee Case Young and widow of Lloyd Donald Scott. She was a 1945 graduate of Belfry High School and attended National Business College. Mrs. Scott was a master seamstress, a fantastic baker, and cake decorator making wedding and celebration cakes for many family members and friends. She spent her life serving others and was a member for over 50 years of Highland View Church of Christ in Oak Ridge, TN. She was also bestowed the honor of Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include her daughters, Sue Nilsen (Karl) of Spartanburg, SC and Beth Scott of Knoxville, TN; six grandchildren, Whitney Miller (Matt), Jonathan Scott (Shayna), Courtney Walker (John), Nathan Nilsen (Amanda), Mary Ann Ross (Ben), and Rebecca Randall; nine great-grandchildren; and sisters, Vernita Fern Ward (Alva) of Liberty Township, OH and Marion Marie Booth of South Williamson, KY. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Marion Burgess "Pete" Scott; and sisters, Recie Edna Quartana, Nora Beatrice Scott, Mary Magnolia Young, Ethel Childers, Gathel Aaron, and Earnestine Stanley.
