Saye Nichols, Jr., 76, of Clifton, SC died Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospice House. Born March 16, 1945 in York County, SC, he was the son of the late Saye Junior and Helen Blackwell Nichols.
A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Nichols was retired from Best Machinery. He was a member of Converse Baptist Church. Saye loved working on lawn equipment.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Scruggs Nichols, his daughter, Nina Nichols of Pacolet, SC, step-son, Jeffery Scott Fortner (Teresa) of Anderson, SC, grandchildren, Erin Fortner, Jennifer Fortner, William Fortner and Haley Nichols, great-grandchildren, Trestin, Keegan, Elliana and Reign, and his sister, Dot Thomas of Smyrna, GA. He was also predeceased by a step-son, William Todd Fortner, his siblings, Joanne Dale, Janice Cash, Barbara Crocker, and Ray Nichols.
Graveside service will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Daniel Godfrey. Visitation will follow the service.
