Sarah Sparnell

Sarah Bailey Sparnell, 83, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 2, 1933, in Milford, GA, she was the daughter of Nannie Mae Brantley Bailey of Spartanburg, SC and the late David C. Bailey. She was the widow of Charles E. Sparnell. Mrs. Sparnell was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and retired seamstress with Hope Reed. She was an accomplished painter. In addition to her mother, survivors include sisters, Dorothy Thomas of Charlotte, NC and Geraldine Stockdale of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, John Bailey of Spartanburg, SC, Thomas Bailey (Margaret) of Walnut Grove, SC, and Joe Bailey (Jackie) of Woodruff, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in Good Shepherd Memorial Park, 4164 Boiling Springs Rd., Boiling Springs, SC 29316, by the Rev. Ronnie Norris. Visitation will be at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Cudd Memorial Baptist Church, 1301 Boiling Springs Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
