Sarah Patterson

Sarah Catherine Teasley Patterson, 90, of Spartanburg, beloved wife of the late Charlton Boyd Patterson, Sr., grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born February 29, 1920, in Elberton, GA, and a native of Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late George Glenn and Bessie McCurley Teasley. She was a graduate of Anderson Business College and first worked in the Clerk of Courts office in Anderson. She also worked at Pacific Mills in Lyman as a secretary. After marriage she became a homemaker and then a dedicated mother. Survivors include two sons, Charlton Boyd Patterson and his wife Pam, and Glenn Teasley Patterson and his wife Lydia, all of Spartanburg; a brother, Norman Teasley and his wife Ann of Oak Ridge, TN; two sisters, Nita Teasley Byrum of Charleston, SC, and Bessie Teasley West of Greensboro, NC; four granddaughters, Heather Patterson Dotson and her husband Edward of Woodruff, Kathryn June Patterson and Lauren Elizabeth Patterson, both of Spartanburg, and Janice Branch and her husband Richard of Inman; two grandsons, Adam Grant Patterson and his wife Pinar of San Angelo, TX, and John Wickstrom and his wife Darlene of Waterford, PA; several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. David B. Smith. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303; or to Bethel United Methodist Church, 245 South Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
