Sarah Thelma Creel Lucas, 74, of Spartanburg, died Friday, January 13, 2012, at her home. Born August 24, 1937, in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Rufus and Sarah Mildred Thompson Creel, and wife of the late Arthur Coleman Wilson. Thelma was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. She was retired from the hospitality and restaurant management industry. Her hobby was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved to sing and in earlier years she sang gospel on the radio from Georgetown, SC, as well as, with Porter Wagner in Spartanburg at the Memorial Auditorium. Survivors include her children, Catherine Baker of Spartanburg, Joey Wilson and wife Sandy of Pacolet, Terri Scruggs and husband Scott of Spartanburg, Pam Hipps and husband Raymond of Harris, NC, and Robin Pruitt and husband Donnie of Spartanburg; sisters, Mary Johnson, Darlee Mitchem and husband Ray, all of Andrews, SC, and Linda Cook of Myrtle Beach, SC; brothers, Elton Creel and wife Walker Dale of Andrews, SC, Francis Creel and wife Edith of Boiling Springs, SC, and C. R. Creel of Andrews, SC; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a chosen child, Joe Frady of Chesnee, SC. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Selena Michelle Hipps; and brothers, Buster, Henry, and Joseph Creel. Visitation will be 10:00-10:45 AM Monday, January 16, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Benny Davis and the Rev. Joey Wampler. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
