Sarah Franklin

Sarah West Franklin, 84, of Magnolia Manor in Inman, formerly of Pauline, died Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born April 3, 1926 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Katherine Lancaster West and wife of the late F. Erskine Franklin. She worked at Raycord Manufacturing and Lancaster's Grocery in Pauline and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Franklin of Pauline, and a number of nieces of nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Thomas West, George Manning West, Pierce West and Matt West; and three sisters, Marie West Miller, Helen West, and Leona West. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, January 17, 2011 at Floyd's North Church Street Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Friendship Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Brian P. Harris. Burial will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, 830 Friendship Road, Pauline, SC. The family is at the home of Odell and Judy Sumner, 630 Harrison Grove Road, Roebuck, SC.
