Sarah Easler

Sarah Swofford Easler, 82, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, July 2, 2016 at her home. Born August 28, 1933 in Saluda, NC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Swofford and Ezelle Pace Swofford. She was the widow of Lucian Russell Easler, Sr. Mrs. Easler retired from Hoechst Fibers after 22 years of service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Spartanburg, former member of the Baptism and The Lord's Supper Committees. A member of and worked with the Young at Heart and of Al Clark's Sunday School Class. She was a volunteer with Mobile Meals for 18 years, and was also a former Cub Scout Leader. Survivors include a daughter, Dianne E. Easler of the home; son, Russ Easler (Sharon) of Spartanburg, SC; grandsons, Brandon Kyle Easler and Taylor Bryce Easler; sister, Betty Swofford Weber (Charles) of Cowpens, SC; two nieces and nine nephews. Visitation will be 9:30 - 10:45 AM, Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Spartanburg Sanctuary, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Donald J. Wilton; the Rev. Sal Barone; and the Rev. Bill Adams. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Members of the Al Clark Sunday School class will serve as honorary escort. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304, or First Baptist Church of Spartanburg the Encouraging Word, 250 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
