Sarah Chapman

Sarah Elizabeth Genobles Chapman, 86, formerly of 240 Shady Acres Road, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 6, 2010, at Windsor House. Born February 16, 1924, in Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Lettie Genobles and wife of sixty-seven years to the late Joe Arthur Chapman. She was retired from Hoechst Celanese and was a longtime member of Clifton First Baptist Church. She served faithfully in what ever task she was asked to do. She leaves behind a family that she loved and to whom she was devoted. Survivors include two daughters, Kay George and husband Steve, and Sherry Arnold and husband Don, all of Spartanburg; three grandchildren, Shanna Jones and husband Todd of Rock Hill, Tashia George and Joseph Bo Arnold, both of Spartanburg; her special grandchildren, Cassandra Bernard and family, Felicia Wright and family; and many friends she made while at the Windsor House who embraced her so graciously. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jesse Genobles and James Genobles; and three sisters, Helen Blake, Elise Hall, and Flossie Genobles. Visitation will be 1:30-2:45 p.m. Tuesday March 9, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p,m, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Michael Bradley. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clifton First Baptist Church, P. O.
