Sarah Swain Burnett, 92, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills-Landrum. Born September 10, 1923, in Highpoint, NC, she was the daughter of the late Perrow E. and Ella Martin Swain. Sarah was a member of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg and also a member of WMU. She volunteered with Mobile Meals Service and was a graduate of Cecil's Business College. Survivors include her daughters, Janet McLeskey (Jerry) of Spartanburg, SC and Nancy Mackey (Harold) of Isle of Palms, SC; three grandchildren, Jason McLeskey (Michelle), Jim McLeskey, and Alex Mackey; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Matthew McLeskey; and longtime companion of 30 plus years, Walter H. Johnson, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Harold Swain; and sisters, Martha Spratling and Evelyn Swain. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 AM Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Robert C. Morgan. Private burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mobile Meals Service, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304; or a charity of one's choice.
