Sarah Buice

Sarah Bevis Buice, 89, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born April 3, 1925, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late William Fred Bevis, Sr. and Addie Rebecca Miller Bevis, and widow of Robert Lancaster Buice. Mrs. Buice was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts. She retired from Sears after 32 years of service. Survivors include her children, William "Bill" Buice of Spartanburg, SC, and Nancy Weaver (Roger) of Duncan, SC; granddaughter, Melissa Weaver of Dallas, TX; sister, Martha Webber of Boiling Springs, SC; and brother, William Fred Bevis, Jr. of Charleston, SC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Louise Buice; brothers and sisters, Walter Bevis, Elizabeth Bevis McElrath, Joe Thomas Bevis, and Corinne Bevis Martin. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM Monday, December 8, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
