Sara Steadman

Sara Elizabeth Cobb Steadman, 91, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 16, 2018 at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born January 10, 1927 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Sally Porter Cobb and widow of John Calhoun Steadman, who were married for 69 years. Maime was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Sara was a member of First Baptist Church and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was employed with Southern Bell, the Aug. W. Smith Co. and was retired from Lockwood-Greene Engineers. Survivors include a son, Chris Steadman of Greenville, SC; daughter, Linda Robertson of Spartanburg, SC; granddaughters, Jaime Robertson of Spartanburg, SC; Lindsey Cannon (Ashley) of Lexington, SC; Anna Robertson of Spartanburg, SC; great-grandchildren, Jackson Lee Cannon, Hudson Cannon, and Graham Cannon; and two nieces, Mellnee Buchheit and Brenda Adams. Along with her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a sister, Evelyn Gardner and two brothers, Ralph Cobb and Jack Cobb. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Sal Barone. Visitation will follow in the chapel. Entombment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Complex, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307.
