Sara Rollins

Sara Cromer "Oma" Rollins, 85, died Saturday, June 20, 2015, at Park Place Assisted Living. Born January 18, 1930 in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Levi Newton and Florence Campbell Cromer. She was also predeceased by her husband, Perry D. Rollins, Jr. Mrs. Rollins was a graduate from Spartanburg High School, and attended Spartanburg General Hospital Nursing School, and retired from Southern Bell/BellSouth. She loved to travel, camp, garden, and was a member of Pioneer Club. She was a long-time member of Westside Baptist Church. Surviving are her sons, Derry Rollins (Donna) of Spartanburg, SC and Randy Rollins (Cathy), of Moore, SC; granddaughters, Jessica Alverson, of Roebuck, SC; Mitzi Rollins of Moore, SC; great granddaughters, McKalie and Hayden; great grandson, Nathan; brothers, Ray Cromer, and Dennis Cromer; sisters, Judy McLyea and Nancy Hill, and Linda Ellison. She is also predeceased by a grandson, Chad Rollins; brothers, Calvin Cromer, and Jimmy Cromer; and a sister, Myra Sprouse. Visitation will be 10:00 - 10:45 AM Monday, June 22, 2015 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. G. Eddie Burris. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307. Memorials may be made to the Spartanburg Humane Society, 150 Dexter Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Park Place Assisted Living and Southern Care Hospice for the care and concern given to our beloved Mother and Grandmother.
