Sara Ruff Parris, 89, of Spartanburg, SC, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born March, 5, 1924, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Bertram Zachary Ruff and Mary Williams Ruff, and was married to the late Floyd Wilson Parris for 64 years. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Parris was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a member of church circle #4, the Cema Chreitzberg Sunday School Class, and a teacher for the kindergarten class for 10 years. She retired in 1994 from Roses Department Store after 33 years of service. Survivors include her three sons, Steve Parris and his wife Annie of Myrtle Beach, SC, Douglas B. Parris and his wife Lynn, and Bob W. Parris and his wife Robin, all of Spartanburg, SC; 7 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Ruff of Spartanburg, SC; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 12:00-1:15 PM Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM in the Chapel, conducted by The Reverend David B. Smith. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
