Sandy Shubin

Sandy Gilpin Shubin, 65, of Hilton Head-Bluffton, SC, and former resident of Spartanburg, SC from 1970-1986 and Hickory, NC from 1986-2008, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Hilton Head Regional Medical Center. Born June 14, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Rose Hecklin Gilpin, and wife of Stuart A. Shubin of Bluffton, SC. Also surviving are her children, Alyson Lapes (Brian) and Jon Shubin; grandchildren, Reagan Lapes and Andrew Lapes; a sister, Betty Dowling; and cousin, Barbara Dinerman. Funeral services were conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by Rabbi Brad Bloom, Rabbi Ruven Barkan, and Rabbi Yossi Liebowitz. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307.
