Sandra "Sandy" Underwood

Sandra “Sandy” Underwood, 76, of Landrum, SC, died Thursday, June 23, 2022 in Spartanburg. Born October 3, 1945 in Lynchburg, VA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Jackson and Hattie Beatrice Drinkard Shelton and the wife of the late John Harry Underwood for 46 years.

Sandra was a devoted animal lover and advocate who had many pets throughout her life. She had three passions: reading, gardening, and athletic endeavors. She loved to hike, was a competition horse rider, a bicycler and most recently, tennis player.

Survivors include her son, Robert “Jack” Underwood (Mary) of Inman, SC; her grandsons, Allan Underwood, and Jackson Underwood, both of Inman, SC; her sisters, Janet Kramer (Gary) of Florida and Jackie Shelton of Georgia. She was predeceased by three children who died in infancy, James Underwood, Joan Underwood, and Sarah Underwood.
