Sandra New

Sandra Barron New, 71, of Spartanburg, SC, died Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born June 8, 1943, in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Manuel E. and Mamie Lee Howard Ward. Mrs. New was an avid and very talented musician and vocalist. She was a member of Arcadia Freewill Baptist Church, a member of the Order of Eastern Star-Inman Chapter, and retired from TNS Mills. Survivors include her husband, Thomas New; sons, Robert Terry Barron of Easley, SC, Kenneth Wayne Barron of Spartanburg, SC, Kevin Ward Barron of Mayo, SC, and Thomas New of West Virginia; daughter, Shelia Mackey of West Virginia; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by two sisters, Betty Ward Barron and Mazie Ward Bishop. The family will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 PM Friday, April 24, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. Visitation will follow the service at the chapel.
