Samuel "Bud" Peterson

July 16, 1950 — September 19, 2021

Samuel William Peterson, 71, of Spartanburg, SC died Friday, September 17, 2021 at Spartanburg Medical Center-Mary Black Campus. Born July 16, 1950 in Carsonville, MI, he was the son of the late William Vern and Reba Campbell Peterson.

A US Army veteran, Mr. Peterson pastored several churches over a twenty-year span. In addition to pastoring, his entrepreneurial spirit drove him to dabble in many things from driving a truck, selling cars, paint contracting, real estate, etc.

“Bud” was a light-hearted man who loved spending time with his family. He loved to laugh, sing along with gospel music, drink coffee at cheap diners and take his dog on road trips. In his spare time, he enjoyed going to auctions, watching old western television shows, and of course, catching up with everyone of Facebook. He was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Judith Lynn West Peterson, his son, Paul L. Peterson (Sherri) of Ft. Campbell, KY, his daughter, Melanie M. Myers (Ed) of Inman, SC, his granddaughters, Lexington Peterson, Reagan Peterson, Dallas Peterson, Ashton Peterson, Karis Peterson, Riley Peterson, all of Kentucky, and Britteny Myers of Inman, SC, his grandsons, Zach Myers (Alexia) of North Carolina, and Brandon Myers of Inman, SC, great grandson, Leroy Myers, his brothers, Armos Peterson (Margaret) and Dave Peterson (Janie), and his sisters, Ruth Ann Ross and Doris Eldridge (Willard).
