Samuel Tillman Strange, 69, of 1139 Pinckney Road, died Thursday, July 30, 2009, at his home. Born September 22, 1939, in Spartanburg County, SC, he was the son of the late Thaddeus Thomas and Audrey Nix Strange. He attended the University of South Carolina, retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service, and worked part-time with Roebuck Greenhouses Garden Center for 15 years. Mr. Strange was a member of Southside Baptist Church and enjoyed the Sunday television worship service of First Baptist Church of Spartanburg. He was a member of Roebuck Masonic Lodge # 357, a 32nd degree Mason, and a Shriner. Survivors include his wife, Rebekah Kinsey Strange; two daughters, Kim Strange Williams and husband Robby of Roebuck, and Julie Strange Williams and husband Ronnie of Boiling Springs; a son, Samuel Jody Strange and wife Allison of Spartanburg; a brother, Thomas Glenn Strange and wife Rita of Spartanburg; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two nieces. Visitation will be 2:00-3:30 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services with Masonic rites will follow at 4:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Samuel Davis.
