Samuel Wilburn Guyton, 77, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, at his home. Born January 2, 1934, in Pacolet Mills, he was the son of the late Collie and Cleo Berry Guyton. He was formerly employed at Spartan Industries, attended Pacolet Mills Church of God, and was an avid fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Myrtle Lou McBride Guyton; a son, Wilburn Eugene Guyton and wife Joye of Pacolet; a granddaughter, Amber McCutcheon of Lockhart, SC; two grandsons, Michael Guyton of Pacolet and Jonathan Parris of Gaffney; three great-grandchildren; and two special friends and fishing buddies, Dean White and David Strange. Visitation will be 2:00-2:45 p.m. Sunday, June 12, 2011, at Floyd's Pacolet Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jonathan Shook. Burial will be in Pacolet Memorial Gardens.
