Sam Baker,62, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 24, 1962, in Owosso, Michigan, Sam known for his adventurous spirit and deep appreciation for the outdoors. He cherished his time hunting, fishing, and working in his yard, activities that brought him immense joy and fulfillment.
Sam was a devoted family man. He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Edwards Baker, and their children: Chris Baker and Michelle Ganz, who is married to Adam. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Lyndsie Cook and Adam Ray, Kamilya Cook and Kyle Taylor, and Kara Baker. He also had the joy of seeing his family grow, as he welcomed his great-granddaughter, Kahlyla White, into the world.
In addition to his immediate family, Sam is remembered fondly by his brother-in-law, Darrell Addison, Chuck Edwards and his sister, Margie Sault, along with her husband Danny. His brothers, Tim Baker and his wife Midge, Stan Baker, and Randy Baker and his wife Carrie, as well as his sister-in-law, Marrietta Baker, also carry on his memory.
Sadly, Sam was predeceased by his father, Jack Baker, and his mother, Beverly St. John Baker. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Steve, Terry, and Jeff Baker, and his brother-in-law, Tony Edwards.
Sam's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit will remain alive in the memories shared among those he loved. A visitation in celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, both at Floyds Boiling Springs Chapel located at 4161 SC-9, Boiling Springs, SC 29316 with Pastor Mike Shackleford and Jason Edwards officiating.
As we honor Sam's life, let us carry forward the warmth and kindness he shared with us all.
