Sally Daniel

Sally Becknell Daniel, 96, died on Saturday, October 17, 2015, at her home. She was the widow of George Duncan Daniel. Born September 19, 1919, she was the daughter of the late John William Becknell and Emily Carruth Becknell. She was a lifelong resident of Spartanburg, SC. Sally graduated from Spartanburg High School and Cecil's Business College. She worked for several Spartanburg insurance companies. Later, after attaining her Real Estate license and broker's license, she opened Daniel Real Estate. Sally was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She held a special love for her hometown, a passion for reading, and a delight in gardening. She had an abiding love for and interest in the young people in her life. Sally is survived by her daughter, Jan Daniel of Spartanburg, SC; a grandson, David Duncan Beasley (Melissa) of Wellford, SC; a great-grandson, Evan Daniel Beasley of Wellford, SC; a son-in-law, Robert Beasley of Spartanburg, SC; a brother, Douglas Becknell (Mary Dee) of Spartanburg, SC; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Robertson (Howard) of Columbia, SC; and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Sally was predeceased by a daughter, Jeffry Daniel Beasley; and siblings, John Becknell, William Becknell, Randolph Becknell, James Becknell, Frances Neal, and Marian Easler. The family will receive friends 1:00-1:45 PM Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM, conducted by the Rev. John Warren, Jr. A deep appreciation is expressed to the Spartanburg Regional Hospice staff and the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home staff who provided Sally with such excellent care and compassion. A special heartfelt thank you to CNA Jamie Hall who comforted and cared for Sally during the last weeks of her life.
