S. Robertson

S. Dean Robertson, 81, of Lyman, SC, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Spartanburg Medical Center. Born September 3, 1935, in Gaffney, SC, he was the son of the late James Frank and Lois Williams Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a retired employee of Thomas & Howard Co., a member of United Baptist Church, Arcadia Masonic Lodge, and a Shriner. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who enjoyed playing golf and played American Legion Baseball as a pitcher. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carole Bailey Robertson; sons, Lee Robertson (Brenda) of Lyman, SC and Mike Robertson of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Michael Robertson (Kristina), John Robertson (Stephanie), Brandon Robertson (special friend Maddison) and Jessica Robertson (fiancé Brandon Mitchell); great-grandchildren, Olivia, Aubrey-Anna, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Mariela, Barrett, and Ariana; sister, Evelyn Clary, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Dana Lynn Robertson; sister, Francis Childers, and brothers, Homer Robertson, and Don Robertson. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 PM Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 East Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307, with services following at 2:00 PM in the Chapel conducted by the Rev. Robert Emory and the Rev. David Frost. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Baptist Church Building Fund, 7319 Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29303. The family will be at the home.
