Ruth Thaxton

Annie Ruth Rawls Thaxton, 81, of Spartanburg, died Thursday, November 4, 2010, at Mary Black Memorial Hospital. Born February 28, 1929 in Richmond County, NC, she was the daughter of the late James Bunyon and Annie H. Adams Rawls. A graduate of the Women's College of the University of North Carolina, she was a retired legal and real estate secretary. Survivors include a son, Thomas Rawls Thaxton and wife Julie of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Kyle Rawls Thaxton and wife Lyndsey of Charleston, SC, Jordan Adams and wife Virginia of Summerville, SC, and Lauren Rawls Thaxton of Columbia, SC; four great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Harry L. Rawls, J. B. Rawls Jr., and William M. Rawls. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 PM Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham, NC.
