Ruth Smith

Ruth Kirschman Smith, 93, of Spartanburg, SC, died Sunday, December 14, 2014, at White Oak Estates-Spartanburg. Born October 4, 1921, in McClusky, ND, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Elizabeth Buchmueller Kirschman, and widow of Paul G. Smith. Mrs. Smith was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and retired from Sears Roebuck Company with more than 20 years of service. Survivors include her children, Paul Glenn Smith and Barbara Camp (Wilson), all of Spartanburg; five grandchildren, Stephanie Smith (Wade Welchel), Trey Smith, Cory Smith, Kevin Camp (Tess), and Kimberly Barnette (Matt); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Pearl Crawford of Long Beach, CA; and sister-in-law, Violet Kirschman of McClusky, ND. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by five brothers; and daughter-in-law, Kathy Smith. A graveside service will be conducted at 3:00 PM Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Rd., Spartanburg, SC 29307, by the Rev. J. Michael Hensley.
