Ruth Mahaffey Pike, 77, of 400 Webber Road, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at White Oak Estates after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. Born April 11, 1932, in the Fairmont community of Spartanburg County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Harry Joseph and Virginia Riddle McAbee and the wife of the late James Donald Pike. A graduate of Cecil's Business College, she was retired from the Social Security Administration. She was a member of Green Street Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters, Susan M. Lancaster of Spartanburg, Beth M. Robinson of Gastonia, NC, and Sally M. Jones of Midland, TX; a son, Steve A. Mahaffey of Inman; a brother, James McAbee of Duncan; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 2:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. C. Allen Senn.
