Ruth Mathis

Ruth Christine Mathis, 99, of Pacolet Mills, died Sunday, September 23, 2012, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Born December 29, 1912, in Pacolet Mills, she was the daughter of the late Fred M. and Maude Sparks Mathis. She was a member of Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, a member of the Fidelis Sunday School Class, and retired from Pacolet Manufacturing Company. Survivors include her sister, Betty M. Trent of Pacolet Mills; sister-in-law, Bobbie L. Mathis of Peachtree City, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00-1:45 PM Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Pacolet Mills Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM, at the church, conducted by the Rev. Norman L. Band. Burial will be in Goucher Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pacolet Mills Baptist Church, PO Box 660, Pacolet Mills, SC 29373.
